Nurse aide training program 

coming November 2019

Capstone Career Development will soon be offering a Nurse Aide Training program.  This course will be 11 weeks, 108 hours of training.  60 hours of lecture with 48 hours of hands-on training in a long-term care facility. Classes for the first 8 weeks are held on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5-9pm. Clinical rotations are weeks 9-11 and held Monday-Thursday evenings from 5-9pm.


Students will be required to have background check, drug screening and TB testing completed prior to enrollment into this program. Students enrolled during flu season are required to have a flu shot. 

Capstone Career Development Center’s Nurse Aide Training program teaches students the practical knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in the role of a Nurse Aide.


Student will learn:

  • Introduction to Health Care Agencies

  • Resume workshop and interview skills

  • The person’s rights

  • Restraints and restraint alternatives

  • Admissions, transfers, and discharges

  • Fall prevention

  • Safety and Body Mechanics

  • OSHA and Blood Borne Pathogens

  • Measuring Vital Signs

  • Emergency and wound care

  • Growth and development

  • End-of-life care

  • CPR

  • Human Anatomy

  • Medical Terminology

  • Hygiene, grooming, bed making


Upon successful completion of the course, the student will receive a Certificate of Completion in Nurse Aide Training, CPR certification and OSHA/ Infection control certification. Once successfully completing the course, students must take the NNAAP certification exam through Pearson Vue, an independent testing agency. A fee of $101 is required with the testing application.
