Our Chair-side Dental Assisting course will prepare you for many dental settings!  You will complete the course over 18 weeks and 100 hours of hands-on training.  Classes are held Saturdays from 8am-5pm or Monday/Wednesday from 6pm-8pm and Saturday from 8am-12pm. • The Dental Profession- Orientation to the Dental Profession, Dental Basics, Dental Anatomy & Terminology

• Head Anatomy, Oral Histology, Anatomy of a Tooth

• SOAP, Charting, Classification of Cavities, Chart Components, Chart Documentation

• OSHA, HIV, Infection Control

• Isolation, Rubber Dam Placement

• 4-Handed Dentistry

• Amalgam, Composites

• Tub and Tray Systems

• Preventive Dentistry, Sealants, Oral Hygiene Periodontal Disease, Oral Prophylaxis, Topical Fluoride

• Study Models, Impression taking & pouring, Trimming, Bute registration

• CPR, Crown & Bridge, Provisional Crowns

• Oral Surgery, Prosthodontics, Endodontics, Orthodontics

• Radiology Safety & Procedure

• Intraoral Full Mouth Series & Panorex

Upon Completion: Receive a CCDC Certificate of Completion, Radiology Safety Training Certificate, OSHA, and a CPR Certificate.

Testing:

• Radiation Health and Safety Exam (RHS)-

  Needed to take x-rays in SC. Offered through Dental Assisting National Board (DANB). Cost $270, NOT covered by CCDC.

• RHS along with Infection Control Exam (ICE)- Offered through DANB. Cost $375, NOT covered by CCDC.
