
Meet Miranda Wood, EFDA
Owner & Director of Education
With more than 20 years of experience in dentistry and over a decade in career education, Miranda Wood is dedicated to helping students build successful futures in healthcare.
Miranda earned her Associate's Degree in Expanded Function Dental Assisting from Tri-County Technical College, where she received the Patterson Clinical Excellence Award. She also completed advanced training in temporary crown and bridge fabrication through the UAB School of Dentistry.
After joining Dr. Crumpton's dental practice in 2002, Miranda developed extensive clinical experience before transitioning into education in 2011. Since then, she has taught Dental Assisting, led career training programs, and helped hundreds of students gain the knowledge and confidence needed to begin rewarding careers.
As Owner and Director of Education at Capstone Career Development Center, Miranda is passionate about creating a supportive learning environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed. Her goal is to provide high-quality, hands-on training that prepares graduates for certification, employment, and long-term career success.
Outside of work, Miranda enjoys spending time with her husband and children, traveling, cooking, and making memories outdoors.

Meet Timmy, Administrative Assistant/ Tuition Assistance Coordinator
Timmy has been a valued member of the education community Since 2021, helping students navigate every step of their educational journey. As Capstone's Administrative Assistant and Tuition Assistance Coordinator, he works closely with tuition assistance agencies, case managers, and students to ensure a smooth enrollment process and continued success throughout their programs.
He manages student progress reporting, coordinates with funding partners, and serves as a trusted resource for students from enrollment through graduation. His commitment to organization, communication, and student support helps make the educational experience as seamless as possible.
Timmy is passionate about helping students achieve their career goals and takes pride in providing exceptional service to every individual who walks through Capstone's doors.
Outside of work, Timmy enjoys golfing, watching professional wrestling, traveling, and spending quality time with his wife and children.

Meet Valerie, Dental Program Department Head, Dental Assisting Clinical Instructor, Student Services Coordinator
Valerie completed her studies at Spartanburg Community College, earning her Diploma as an expanded duty dental assistant in 2008. She has also held CDA certification since 2009. With more than 16 years of experience in general dentistry and 7 years of teaching, Valerie offers a rich depth of knowledge to her students. When she's not engaged with patients or students, Valerie loves spending quality time with her husband and two daughters.

Meet Yvette Dental Assisting Clinical Instructor,
Yvette graduated from Spartanburg Community College as a certified expanded duty dental assistant in 2008. Yvette is certified to perform CPR and is trained in OSHA standards. She is also certified to perform x-rays. Yvette enjoys furthering her education by attending certified educational courses. In her free time, Yvette enjoys reading mystery books and spending time with her husband and two children.

Meet Meredith, Dental Assisting Clinical Instructor,
Meredith Garrett is a dedicated dental professional and educator with a strong background in dental hygiene and public health. She completed the Expanded Functions Dental Assisting (EFDA) program at Tri-County Technical College and earned an Associate of Science in Dental Hygiene from Greenville Technical College. She later graduated magna cum laude from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health.
Ms. Garrett is passionate about supporting student success and creating an engaging, supportive learning environment. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys staying active, cross-stitching, playing video games, and spending time with her cats.

Meet Chasity, Medical Program Department Head, Clinical Medical Assisting Instructor
Chasity graduated from Spartanburg Technical College in 2004 as a Certified Medical Assistant. She has over 18 years of experience in OB/GYN. She is also certified in CPR, DOT drug screenings, and BAT(Breath Alcohol Technician) testing, where she is also an instructor. A significant aspect of her responsibilities involves overseeing billing processes to ensure accuracy and completeness. Additionally, she is involved in conducting Biometrics Clinics and performing blood draws. She takes pride in her role in organizing health fairs aimed at introducing new and enhanced services provided by our clinics. This includes arranging various clinics such as Influenza vaccines and Hepatitis B vaccinations to promote health and wellness among our clientele. Outside of her professional commitments, she is married with three children. She enjoys supporting the South Carolina State football team as a proud percussion band mom.

Meet Patricia,
Clinical Medical Assisting Instructor
Dedicated healthcare professional and educator with over 15 years of experience in medical assisting, healthcare administration, and academic instruction. I am passionate about supporting team goals and fostering student success, consistently creating a positive and inclusive learning environment. My teaching approach is highly adaptive, accommodating diverse learning styles and leveraging technology to enhance engagement and outcomes.
I have been a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through AMT since 2009. I am a proud two-time ECPI University alumnus, holding both an Associate of Applied Science and a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration. I further advanced my expertise by earning an MBA with a concentration in Healthcare Administration from Strayer University. For the past two years, I have also served as a certified CPR instructor through the American Heart Association, equipping others with essential life-saving skills.
My commitment to excellence in healthcare and education drives me to continually support both my colleagues and students in achieving their highest potential.

Asia Suber brings more than 10 years of experience in pharmacy, with a diverse background spanning retail, hospital, specialty pharmacy, and long-term care settings. She is passionate about developing the next generation of healthcare professionals by combining real-world expertise with practical instruction.
