Patient Care Technician
Students must hold a CNA Certification to Register for this course. 

15-week course

Monday and Wednesday evenings 6pm-8pm and Friday 1pm-5pm

Students will learn:

  • Patient Care

  • Medical Terminology

  • Phlebotomy

  • EKG

  • Patient Rights, Ethics and Laws

  • Body Structure and Function/ Growth and Development

  • Infection Control

  • Patient Safety

  • Role of the Patient Care Technician

  • Admissions and Discharge

  • End-of-Life Care

  • Care of Women and Children

  • Surgical patient care

  • Basic Emergency Care

Upon completion of the course and successfully passing the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Patient Care Technician’s exam, students will receive a certificate of completion, OSHA/ Infection Control certification and CPR. 

 

Additional certifications students can obtain:

  • NHA Certified Phlebotomy Technician- You must meet the requirements of 30 venipunctures and 10 capillary pricks to sit for this exam.

  • NHA Certified EKG Technician- You must meet the requirements of 10 Electrocardiograms.
