Patient Care Technician

 

15-week course

Monday and Wednesday evenings 6pm-8pm and Friday 1pm-5pm

 

It is the objective of CCDC to provide training that focuses solely on the fundamental skills and knowledge required to work in the medical field.  We strive to offer patient care technician training that allows an individual to complete training and seek employment in the shortest amount of time possible.  Students are instructed in a clinical and classroom setting so they become familiar with the work environment and equipment before their first day of work as a patient care technician.

 

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will earn a certificate in Infection Control based on OSHA Regulatory Standards, a certificate in HIPPA Training, a certificate in Blood Borne Pathogens training, become CPR certified, and earn a certificate of completion in Patient Care Technician.  The student will be prepared to sit for the CPCT Exam through the National Health Career Association upon successful completion of the course.

 

 

Students will learn:

  • Patient Care

  • Medical Terminology

  • Phlebotomy

  • EKG

  • Patient Rights, Ethics and Laws

  • Body Structure and Function/ Growth and Development

  • Infection Control

  • Patient Safety

 

 

Students must have CNA Certification prior to enrollment into PCT program.

 

Additional certifications students can obtain:

  • National Healthcareer Association Certified Phlebotomy Technician- You must meet the requirements of 30 Venipunctures and 10 Capillary Pricks to sit for this exam.

  • National Healthcareer Association Certified EKG Technician- You must meet the requirements of 10

  • Electrocardiograms.
